OOOAAARDVARK
GOODBYE ZOE
KILL TWO BIRDS

OOOAAARDVARK (pronounced 'triple owe aardvark') are the Australian band you can now get excited about.  Dirty, raw, technical rock with a psychedelic tinge, combining the light and dark of Godspeed You! with the poly-rhythms of Meshuggah, the clean guitars of Sonic Youth with the drums of DJ Shadow, and the existentialism of Albert Camus with the psychedelia of the Doors and early Pink Floyd.  All this with a 21st century outlook on the direction that rock should go. Catch OOOAAARDVARK live at Pony on Thursday July 29th, supported by the polished, well-crafted pop/punk of GOODBYE ZOE and the cocktail of eclectic grunge rock spiked with a pop sedative that is KILL TWO BIRDS!

Friday 30th July

NABERUS
HARLOTT
ORPHEUS

Friday night at Pony is going to be a night or brutality not to be missed. Kicking things off are ORPHEUS, a hard hitting melodic death metal band that show no compromise in their songs or their live show. The guitars ring out like gun shots under a massive synth energy melody that keeps you begging for more. They're joined by HARLOT, the next big thing in the thrash scene. Andy Hudson (vox and guitar) is a charismatic front man that takes the stage in full force while the rest of the team blow the crowd away with their tight riffs and fast solos. Rounding out the night are headliners NABERUS, one of the freshest melodic death metal bands around. Their songs are a mix of aggressive groove metal chorus and melodic verses that move easily from riff to riff. So come down to Pony and get it thick and fast this Friday night.

9:30pm

2:00am late show:
FATHOMS / FREE
Forged in the murky depths, FATHOMS are a post punk band with balls. A three piece, with all members originating from New Zealand, they met in Melbourne and had no choice but to form a band. With their sound ranging from slow and hypnotic drones to ear shattering angular guitar pile ups FATHOMS love the NOISE. IF anyone that has seen them before have survived, theyre sure to be kneeling down at the altar of FATHOMS. Come do the same this Friday night when they perforate eardrums in the 2am late slot at Pony.

MY FICTION (ALBUM LAUNCH)

RADIO STAR

THE RAVENOUS
CULT VISIONS

With their new single Every June already making an impact at radio, Brisbane four piece MY FICTION are all set to headline PONY this Saturday night to launch their debut album FIREROMANCEFIRE as part of their east coast tour. The tour announcement comes as Every June continues to win fans thanks to rotation on Triple J - with the band also unveiling a powerful new clip for the track which was featured as Rage Indie of the Week as well as on Video Hits. Meanwhile, Every June has been named a finalist in two major categories of Queenslands biggest songwriting awards Q Song. The band is now in the running to pick up the Courier-Mail Peoples Choice Award and the Alternative award. The band have invited along local faves RADIO STAR, THE RAVENOUS and CULT VISIONS to lend their support, a cracking lineup more than worthy of this occasion. Dont miss the MY FICTION Album Launch this Saturday.

9:00pm

2am late show: REPTILES/ FREE
Melbourne scuzz-punks REPTILES are set to get in your face and make you glad to have stayed up late when they make the Pony 2am late show their own this Saturday night. Theres a lot to like about REPTILES as they spit venom about foul play, people on the run from the law, being psychotically in love and getting drained in nightclubs. Invoking the memory of fast, loud and furious 80s swamp rock, REPTILES play a sound reminiscent of The Cramps and the menacing bass drone of The Scientists. The young upstarts have taken to audiences with their refreshing, knee-to-the-balls guitar-driven punk rock. If youve got balls, thats exactly what you need at 2am. If you havent got balls, itll be good to see people with balls copping it live in the flesh, rather than on a funniest home video show. See you at the REPTILES late show this Saturday at Pony.
